Seahawk Inshore Fishing Report 9/5/08

The inshore fishing has been really good the past couple of weeks with catches of red drum, black drum, speckled trout, flounder, lady fish, and sheephead.

We have been catching good numbers of speckled trout on live shrimp and Doa shrimp under a popping cork. There was one day that we caught over fifty specs. We have also picked up a few black drum and sheephead while fishing for the trout with live shrimp.

The redfish bite has been good also. We have caught a few over the slot fish 28″ to 31″ sightcasting artificials on the flats, but most have been caught either blind casting artificials or using live finger mullets around oyster points. The largest redfish that was caught was a 33″er on a finger mullet.

We are also catching some really nice flounder on both artificial and live finger mullets. The largest flounder caught was 5.3 lb fish caught on a live finger mullet.

Check out the photos from the past couple of weeks. These are just a few of the good catches we have had lately.

Thanks,
Jeff Wolfe
