Seahawk Inshore Fishing Report 2/5/09

Winter Redfishing !!!

We are are still catching redfish despite the cold weather we have had lately. My son Christian, his friend Wade and I caught nineteen on 2/1/09. The reds are on the flats and around shellbed points and oyster rocks. All of the fish have been caught by sightcasting and blind casting artificials.

It looks like the temps are going to get back to normal for a few days after this cold snap. Hopefully there will be some good redfishing for the next week or so. The fish are there we just need the right temperature and winds to get them to bite. I should have a better redfishing report for the next couple of weeks. Check out the photos from the past couple of weeks.

Thanks,
Jeff Wolfe

A nice red I caught sightcasting on the flats on 2/1/09

A winter redfish caught blindcasting on a shellbed point

We are seeing lots of schools of reds this size pushing up wakes and boiling the mud in less than a foot of water
