Seahawk Inshore Fishing Report 7/28/14

Mid Summer Fishing Report Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Sheephead, Black Drum, etc. etc. Lots of inshore action in the backwaters of the Lower Cape Fear area.

The inshore and backwater fishing has really picked up with the arrival of mullet minnows and shrimp in the creeks and bays of the lower Cape Fear area. The weather has been really nice also with lots of cooler than normal temps for this time of year. We are catching redfish, trout and flounder on both artificials and live baits. We are also picking up a few other species such as sheephead, black drum, bluefish, ladyfish, and jack crevalles. There are large schools of redfish roaming the flats and the sightfishing has been good when the winds are light. The reds on the flats are crushing topwater plugs throughout the day. Look for this action with all of these species to continue for the remainder of the summer. Thanks for reading the report and check out the photos from my recent trips.

Thanks,
Jeff Wolfe
