What do I need to bring for the Waterman's
Way Seafood Charter?
Flats,
backwaters and inshore fishing?
This type of fishing is some of the best the Cape Fear area
has to offer. Buzzard Bay is the best area around to sight
cast for redfish. The oyster bars and shallow flats act
as some of the primary areas that play host to these gamefish.
It is not uncommon to actually sight the fish in these areas
as we move quietly searching for them. Sightfishing is some
of the most exciting fishing we can do.
Where do you fish?
We fish all of the Cape Fear Area from Wrightsville Beach
to Southport, and all areas between. This includes the Cape
Fear River, Buzzards Bay, and Masonboro Sound.
What type
of boat will we use?
Primarily we will fish from a 21' Kenner Bay boat with a
150 Suzuki four stroke. If one or two people want to sight
cast for redfish, we will use my 17' Ranger Banshee Extreem. I also use the 19' Carolina Skiff for my Waterman's Way Seafood Charters.
What
happens if the weather is bad for the day of the charter?
I will refund your deposit or charter fee and reschedule
if you would like.
What
if I need to cancel the charter?
Cancellation should be made within 3 days of the charter.
No shows will be charged the full amount.
Do you
supply tackle for your use?
I provide top quality tackle for your use. All baits and
lures are included for your use. Live bait is supplied when
needed. You may also bring your favorite tackle. Please
indicate this before your trip.
Do
you fish with children?
Yes, I love to see children catch fish and help them. Seeing
the excitement in their eyes is what makes this job so rewarding!
Do we
need fishing license?
No, a NC Saltwater Fishing license is provided.
What do
we need to bring?
I suggest you dress for the conditions. A hat, sunglasses,
loose and light colored clothing in summer. Warm clothing
is appropriate for the spring and fall. You need to bring
food, water, drinks, snacks, a camera and a cooler for you
fish.
Your level
of experience?
You do not need to be an expert. Often we fish for specific
species and use advanced techniques. We have fun and provide
instruction for you, if you need it. It is your day and
I will do all that I can to make it enjoyable! I do appreciate
the opportunity to be your guide.
Where
is departure?
Most of the time we will depart from the Carolina Beach
boat ramp. We can access all the waters that we will fish
in about 30 minutes or less. I can also pick you up from
any boat ramp or water access that you prefer. ( Wrightsville
Beach to Southport, including all areas in between.)
Do you
clean our catch?
Yes, if time permits, I will clean your fish.

What do
I need to bring for the Waterman's Way Seafood Charter?
You will need to bring at least 2 coolers to transport your
seafood home. You can leave them in your vehicle while we
are out on the boat. You will also need old tennis shoes
or water shoes. If the water is warm, you might want to
wear your bathing suit. We may get wet from wading when
seining nets and raking clams.
